I would like all homework turned in on Thursdays including Reading Logs.  Typically, I record homework and the weekly papers by Thursday night. My Fridays are short and "unexpected" with one AM planning period. This means there is limited time to record a huge stack of papers.

No masks will be allowed in the Halloween parade for safety reasons.

Dicken is a fruit and veggie school; therefore, students should not bring any Halloween candy to school. In the event this happens, the candy or item will be confiscated and returned at the end of the day.

• I can tell the difference between the Main idea and supporting detail.
• I can make boxes and bullets as a tool to summarize main idea of nonfiction text.
• I can highlight to find the main idea of nonfiction text.
• I can observe the different font sizes and color in nonfiction text. 
• I can identify a simile, possibly using it as descriptive writing.
• I can complete one personal narrative through the writing process.
• I can solve 2 step number stories using C.U.B.E.S.
• I can make arrays using columns and rows of equal groups.
• I am beginning to understand equal groups with remainders.
• I can observe weather and analyze its changes.
• I can observe Force and Motion.
• I can briefly describe Human characteristic in Michigan (population size)

This week, Project Lead the way begins and lasts until December 20.

Project Lead the Way is taught by Mrs. Kip-Dohn while Ms. Hubbard assists and monitors the classroom.

The Halloween parade is 1:40. Class party immediately follows it. (There was a sign up genius sent via email.)

The homework for the week is 2.8 and 2.12.

The homework for last week was 2.9, 2.10 and 2.11.

The unit test is Wednesday, Oct. 30. A pretest will precede the test on Tuesday. Below are the outcomes assessed, common core standards. Please excuse the length.

3.OA.C. Multiply and divide within 100.

     I am beginning to explain physical features in geography.

Students have memorized the chant and created mask along with 10 talons for our chant. We actually learned how to paper fold each talon. 

We are champions in my book!
